Leadership Workshop for Community Information Centres (CIC) Entrepreneurs

 Orienting the trainees about Community Information Centres

A four day leadership training programme was conducted, which was used as an opportunity to observe the candidates on their attitude and aptitude for ICT and Entrepreneurship. At the end of the training programme, Hewlett Packard (HP) and World Corps India (WCI) teams short listed final candidates who would be trained and molded to become CIC entrepreneurs. They are:- 

T. Ramesh and P. Amaravathi of Mallanoor 
B. Venkata Ramana Reddy and C. Murali of Vijalapuram 
G. Subramanyam and R. Ram Babu of Maduram Doddi 

 

HP Team Visits CIC Entrepreneurs Training
 

Maureen Convay, Anand Tawker, and Balaji Venkatesan of HP along with World Corps India staff and CIC entrepreneurs 

 

Ms. Maureen Convay, Vice President, Emerging Market Solutions – e-Inclusion, Hewlett-Packard, Palo Alto, California, USA and Mr. Anand Tawker, General Manager- Asia Pacific Region, e-Inclusion and Emerging Market Solutions, Hewlett-Packard, Vancouver, USA, visited the WCI Training Institute and interacted with the CIC entrepreneurs. The interactive session covered the CIC entrepreneurs’ previous work and community engagements, business aptitude, their personal, community and CIC vision. 

E-seva Director visits Kuppam Community Information Centre

Mr. Phani Kumar, Director, E-Seva, Government of Andhra Pradesh  at KCIC

Mr. Phani Kumar visited all Government Departments to review the current methods and volume of utility bill payments and current infrastructure at the Kuppam CIC. He visited KCIC and  interacted with the CIC entrepreneurs. Currently, the technical feasibility for online payments through Community Information Centres is being studied and reviewed in Kuppam through the E-Seva Department.
