Sri Traders providing incense stick making training to women SHG members at Kuppam

WCI has been facilitating Sri Traders, a Bangalore based company to establish an incense stick raw materials manufacturing unit in Kuppam. During August 2003, Sri Traders established their new premises at Kuppam. This raw materials manufacturing unit will be directly providing raw materials to the women engaged in incense stick making in the villages of Kuppam Constituency. WCI in collaboration with other NGOs would be facilitating formation of women Self-Help Groups and capacity building workshops. Sri Traders would buy-back the finished goods from the women SHGs.

The entrepreneurs were also given a weeklong on the job training at the CICs in mandal headquarters. Through this they got the ropes of operating and managing a CIC on a day-to-day basis.
