World Corps India in Tsunami Relief work 


Tsunami badly affected the lives of many people, living on the coast in the states of Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala. In Tamil Nadu, it affected the districts of Nagapattinam, Kanyakumari,Cuddalore, Kanchipuram, Chennai and other areas. The length of the Coast affected is 1000 kms with an intrusion of sea waves to an extent of 1 to 15 kms inland. As per Government estimate alone, 10,000 are dead, 362 villages and about 7 lakh population have been displaced with a loss of lives, homes, belongings and livelihoods. This natural calamity has victimized the poorest of the poor, fishermen community and those who did not have any other option than living just on the shore on the sea.

         
In response to one of the biggest human tragedies in recent times, World Corps India in association with other committed organizations have distributed food, food grains, provisions, clothes, medicines, utensils etc.
