What do Umarani (Kuppam, India)
Melture of (Cebu, Philippines) Roger (Yucatan, Mexico) and Albert
(Magadi, Kenya) have in common? They are just like any other young
people of the regions mentioned in brackets but only with a slight
difference. They are rural young people with a dream and a vision.
Interventions by World Corps and its partner organizations such as
the Government of Andhra Pradesh and Hewlett Packard in India,
World Vision in the Philippines, UNDP in Mexico and ITDG and GEF
in Kenya are enabling these young people to combine ICT and
Business to set up rural based and IT enabled Community
Information Centres which are creating economic and social impact
in their regions through information and communication services to
the underserved rural people of their regions.
