Fourth Annual Baramati Initiative on ICT & Development, Maharastra, India

 

Digital Partners in association with other stakeholders had organized the Baramati Conference on “Connected for Development Information Kiosks and Sustainability” during 19-23 February, 2004

Aptly the much talked about issue of Information Kiosks and their sustainability in the ICT4D space attracted a cross section of people from Governments, IT companies and NGOs working in India and other developing countries.

Examples from around the world on IT and Development practices were presented during the Conference.

World Corps Kenya represented by its Country Coordinator Joseph Maruti made a presentation on Innovative Use of IT in the Development Landscape in which he shared the experiences of the Kenya Community Information Centres.

The Baramati workshop gave an opportunity to know more about information and communication technology for development best practices, case studies, lessons learnt of various players. Forums like these also help in sharing, learning and convergence of like-minded ICT4D leaders and organizations.

Praveen Kumar Prithvi, Country Coordinator, World Corps India also participated in the Conference.
